As for the picture: it was taken during a standard echolon turn, wich is a normal maneuver where you are fairly close in under the other aircrafts belly.
That is how it came out symmetric. Due to some distorsion of the 24mm 2.8 lens the tanks seem to lean inwards a bit what they really do not do.
