I saw it taking off from across the city this morning, those silver engine cowlings glinting in the bright sunlight. I hope the 'Spirit of John Muir' is ready to go into action very soon.

It is great to see this gleaming ex-Japan Air Lines/Evergreen International 747 in the air as a new fire bomber. But now it's time for it to show what it can do in support of our neighbors in Alberta, Canada. It would be a good opportunity to sell the idea of using more large heavies in this role.
