In July 2008 I got a chance to fly Saha Air from THR to Kish. spent 2 hours on Kish with a very friendly taxi driver and then flew back to THR on Iran Aseman Fokker.... memories are still fresh after 13 years.... those 8 days in Tehran were some of the best...

Always good to hear people had a good time here. So lucky to have flown on Saha 707!
Not everyone had that opportunity :)

It used to fly for Saha sometime in the 1990s when Saha had just begun their passenger flights. It later returned to Iran - Air Force and has been flying as a tanker until today.

Fantastic photo. I love seeing these old 707-320 series. One interesting aspect of this plane, though, is the refueling pod out on the wingtip. Haven't seen a refueling pod before that was mounted so far outboard on the wing. I know the KC-135s used in other nations don't have the pod so far out on the wing because the KC-135 doesn't have krueger flaps mounted on the leading edges of the wing. I assume the bright color pattern on the pod means it's a test article?

I'm not well aware to answer that, but I personally think the pods are operational.
