5-8101 (line nr. 5) is the oldest B747 still in service. Fortunately overhaul of this special bird ended in the last months and she passed several test flights. The first flight of the B741 "5-8101" occurred on July 13th 1969.

Awesome, line no 5 flying!!! She is a couple of months older than me.

I worked on line no 7, but sadly, she is no more.

This was TWA's first 747 and is same age as me; congrats to Iran for keeping it flying, may she have many more years of service ahead!

The cowling is the same on both engine Pods. What you see is the air aux doors open to allow more air in the inlet. They are spring loaded and close auto when the aircraft reaches enough speed to push them close. Normally close at speed above 150 Knots.

It was my biggest wish to see her flying again and Iranian (AirForce) technicians made it true. Good job to al of them.

Interesting to see that this particular 747 still uses the original fan cowling. They were replaced by the latter design so long ago... rare and magnificent bird, long it may still fly!!!
