The Campini CC1 was one of the world's first jet aircraft, making its inaugural flight in August 1940. It is really a hybrid, using a traditional piston engine, combined with a compressor, combustion chambers and exhaust system, the power coming from an afterburner. The only complete example surviving in the world today, this fabulous aircraft is preserved in the super Vigna di Valle museum.
