On display at the Peace Museum for Kamikaze Pilots. This Hien originally had a bare metal finish during the war, along with a red ‘17’ on the tail. Surviving post-war destruction as a USAF trophy, it was repainted in different schemes. The final paint job represents a Hien from 244th Hiko-Sentai, which was the most famous IJAAF home defence unit under Capt. Teruhiko Kobayashi that shot down a number of B-29s. This is the only surviving Ki-61-II Kai in the world.
