For me it's difficult to sleep during a flight.. So, instead I was stargazing and noticed the milky way band out of my window as we were passing Australia en route Auckland. Notice how the slats reflect off some stars. It's absolutely beautiful and I'm glad i didn't sleep! By the way this A332 frame is brand spanking new (manufactured in Feb. 2011)[Nikon D3s; Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8; ISO 12,800; 5-second exposure]

great job!
The cosmos and the fruits of our know-how all in one shot. For me this photo shows what a speck we really are whilst at the same time highlighting what is possibly one of man's most valuable traits, his drive to explore and build stuff.
This drive gave as the A330 in the photo, it is sure to yield more of the secrets of Universe in the future.

Here's five more stars for your sky! (though it deserves more than that!)

I love the reflection of the stars on the wing. Simply superb!
Real nice work of art. Congrats.
May I ask the question of the day, how did you manage to hold the camera steady by the window for five whole seconds?
Instead of sleeping and dreaming you brought us your dreams. Very nice and many thanks. This A330 was indeed a dream liner ;-)

This feature is the only thing I'm not excited about in the 787 and I hope it won't become popular on other aircrafts!

That's one of the best photos @ airliners!
Reminds me of the old song "Night flight to venus"
Thanks to catch this moment!
5 stars just can't sum up this work correctly. This is sheer luck.
:o)
I like this light and stars mirrored upon the wing. Milky way is sooo spectacular!
Really amazing shot. Thank you
