"Missouri". KLM 601 heavy from AMS is seen over the numbers landing runway 25L. First flight was September 6, 1979. Delivery date was September 21, 1979. Built as 747-206B, cvt'd to 747-206B(SUD) in 1984, & returned to KLM in January 1985. Other serials - HS-VAA with Phuket Air wearing basic KLM colors - delivered on December 17, 2003. Wears FN OU-010 with KLM. Temporary storage in November 2003 as PH-BUO. Stored at CGK (Jakarta) in May 26, 2005 as HS-VAA. Seen in 2012 at CGK. Has been reported as broken-up. Note United Airlines DC-8-71 & 727-222 eastbound on taxiway Bravo.

Aircraft is perfectly centered ...evenly balanced... in the picture right at landing 747 royal dutch airlines ... good to excellent color contrast... brightness & plain color.
Also fantastic focus ...even able to read nail number...

To me, the best livery KLM ever had, with the two-tone tail logo and the pale blue. A few years later, a slightly darker blue was introduced for the top of the fuselage.

Very few -200s were converted with the stretched upper deck (effectively making them 747-300s). This makes PH-BUO a rare plane. KLM only converted their GE-powered 747s, for their earlier P&W-engined 747s this must not have been considered worthwhile.

The picture perfectly captures that 80s atmosphere for some reason. Love it.
