There are so many photographs similar to this but the angle and zoom of this photograph cannot be compared to any others. This looks like a race. Amazing photograph!

Very nice photo. It's quite interesting, considering, that a european carrier is flying american planes and an american carrier is flying european ones. Keep up the good work.

This is a GREAT shot. In reference to the "law" regarding departures of two "Heavy" class of aircraft, they actually can take off 1:30 after the previous departure IF they are in the same category. A heavy aircraft is anything over 225,000lbs at takeoff. The only aircraft that has its own category is the 757. If a large (think anything thats not a widebody or 757) takes off behind a large, there has to be 3 minutes behind the following departure. If a large takes off behind a heavy or a 757, 5 minutes. There are ALWAYS exceptions to this rule, and usually varies upon departure procedures, climb rate, etc. If you ever want to see this in action, go to JFK between 5pm and 930pm when they are departing runway 31L and using only one runway.

Actually a "heavy" aircraft is an aircraft with a max gross weight of 255,000 lbs or more.

Great picture, nonetheless!

These two aircrafts are very close to each other. I wonder if the chasing one got affected by the wake of first one.

What a beautiful photograph and a great remark. I've always thought of the A330 and 777 as a woman and a man straight out of Hollywood or a luxury brand photoshoot, one elegant and with beautiful lines, the other tough and powerful. Coupled with the two airlines who obviously have some shared history... In response to the American comment about clearance between departing ac... If I read your comment right a 737 or an A320 should wait 5 minutes with taking off, not just after heavies like shown here but also after a 757? It sounds exaggerated even if it is only a common rule with lots of exceptions. Pretty sure I have seen 737's take off closer to even 747's and the A380 at AMS.
