Caption
On taking off from LWO this was the sight with 87 aircraft of various types visible in this shot alone. I believe that the blue and white Su27 in the compound at the bottom was the one involved in the worlds worst airshow disaster on 28th July 2002 when 84 people were killed and more than 100 injured. The pilot and co-pilot survived and were each sentenced to eight years imprisonment for negligence.
