I waited for quite a while until flight LH430 to Chicago departed and the more I waited, the more clouds arrived. Luckily there were some sunrays left for exactly one and a half shots. Lufthansa's new coloured 747-8i is seen here doing the typical left turn after a runway 25C takeoff, still wearing special "Team D" Stickers, after picking up the german olympic team from Korea a few days back. A nice way to close out my personal banking season.

You can see why they are looking to change the shade of blue on the tail... it looks almost black in some lighting conditions.

Nice picture

If they lighten the blue some, OK, but that's all. What a beautiful shot.

Make the Lufthansa text in the old yellow to bring some contrast!

Doesn't need any contrast and anyway yellow titles would just not read well against white.

I think a silver contrast color between the dark blue and the white would make the livery look very classy and also soften the contrast between the two. Also make the logo itself silver instead of just white

What's the yellow patch next to the door for?

Just a welcome sign for when the passengers are boarding in the Lufthansa yellow colour which is now only used for branding in the cabin itself and on uniforms and their websites, etc, but not on the rest of the aircraft.

Some great shots of what I consider to be the most beautiful and unique airliners ever built.
