Nope. Thumbs down. The flag especially looks out of place IMO. Perhaps they could have done well to remove it from that spot and increase the font size of 'Malaysia'.

...the new livery seems a bit cheap...it makes Malaysia Airlines look like a LCC! I prefered the old one, because it looks like a retro style livery, without actually being one!

From my point of view as a designer,the livery looks cheap. Quite disappointing,I was expecting something more creative than this.Perhaps not enough thought have been put into the design of the new livery.

Approximately 1981, after the original two red lines had been tapered to the tail cone in the first modification, MH trialled 2 further (minor) variations. Niether of these two trials, which involved sweeping one of the red lines up to the fin, came to pass and they stayed with version 2 (tapered lines). Maybe this new one is just testing the water. . . . Regards - musang

Once again MAS has proved that they are under cost saving arena,livery looks very simple and the previous livery where red and blue line trails towards the tail cone now shorten up to the mid fuselage.Eventually it looks better for narrow body 738 but not on a wide body aircraft.

Fuselage stripes quite resemble Philippine Airlines' tail minus the sun, but note that blue and red are found on both countries' flags

5 stars to the photo, 1 for the livery. I don't like it over the old classic one. However, if they had more red stripes like in the flag and also the yellow sun and moon like in the real flag, just in a kind of waving over the whole fuselage, then it would be nice. Now, it looks unfinished to me.

Finished or unfinished, the malaysiaairlines titles and the stripes seems like the livery is poorly designed.The colors does not reflect Malaysia,i see it more like a Philippine or Nepal LCC.

It seems that they are going to fight AK/TR instead of SQ/TG.. I hope that this is not "the real deal", will look weird on the A380s

Quite a bad livery! looks more like a charter-airline than a serious 5-star-airline! I hope they create a better livery by the time they get their A 380s! That livery on the big airbus ??? NO WAY, should look weird!

It is said that this new livery saves fuel costs because it supposedly weights less. I think Malaysian Airlines said that to make an excuse for this simple livery.

4 stars for the photographer. Excellent photo with perfect timing. Despite that, not so good livery. It may look fine on a 737-800 or maybe the A330 (yes they did that too), but once this livery is applied to a 747, 777 or A380, it won't good. It's not good enough for a national carrier.
