Funny to see the board with aircraft types on it.
I like the way you only showed us the nose of the aircraft.

I love that pic but I wonder what kind of info give this sign? the types that can actually use the gate? but why "other types" then?... thx!

It's really cool to see all airplane types in one shot. But I don't see the Concorde!

Nice photo! Can someone explain the what the sign says with regards to the specific type of aircraft?

Great details in the picture.

The lines with aircraft types are part of the aircraft parking guidance system. Each aircraft is different size and pilot seating positions are different with respect to the aircraft nose. By watching the appropriate line until it lines up with the guide the pilot knows when to stop.

Very interesting to see the co-ordinates on the gate sign. I actually put them into Google Earth and it took me right to this spot! Very unique shot! 5*

Awesome photo! Just an FYI, the co-ordinates are there so the pilot can enter them into their INU (inertial navigation unit) in case the aircraft was moved since it's last shutdown (normally it would remember its last position)

It's amazing how small the pressure seal is on that door. It's a big opening to seal in all that pressure.
