In 1992, Markair and Markair Express offered competition to Alaska Airlines in the Alaskan market. Having failed to make money, Markair moved to the lower 48 before collapsing completely. One of their rough field fit 737 combis is caught departing off Anchorage's runway 32. This airplane was built for Alaska Airlines but not delivered, taken up by Markair, and then sold back to Alaska when Markair collapsed! (Kodachrome 64 original)
