Jeez, there's something. They must be pretty relaxed on security - anybody could just drive off the road and onto the runway!

Routine traffic at GIB!...by the way,when planes are not parked,it could be easy to go on runway by car or feet...but when is parked you can see a police jeep with a pretty big gun that makes you go straight ahead

I would NEVER mind if I got stuck in a traffic jam in such a place.

Can I drive into the Airport and board the Monarch B757 without a ticket?

I flew into this airport back in 1985, and it has not changed one bit!! It sure is an experience flying in/out of this one!!

You can easily spot an aircraft here, very close aircraft spotting without any problems.

Not yet built when this photograph was taken, is the new air terminal. The Government of Gibraltar has recently issued a new tender for the building of a vehicular tunnel on the Eastern end of the runway, after which crossing the runway would become a thing of the past and help alleviate traffic congestion whenever the airport barrier is down. As to concenrns about security, the Gibraltar Defence Police operated armoured Land Rover patrols whenever there are aircraft present.
