It seems airplanes where sculptured back then, not merely designed, an era that lasted for a couple of decades more. Too bad it ended...

Classic profile! Even in Stephen Piercey's Sky Trucks books, when these birds were in less than top shape, they still maintained that profile. At least I still have the 049 Connie at Greenwood Lake Airport (4N1) to marvel at.
