Does anybody know what the round mound like things are on the pedestal between the FMS keyboard and the comms panel??
My guess is hand hold or arm rest.
Thought these little round things on the central pedestal are used to warm the hands of the pilot and 1st officer!!
Also, all of the Airbus airliners use side sticks now. The flight controls on these planes are completely computerized and require a different "touch" than traditional flight controls: hence the sticks. As to Left hand vs. Right hand... you get used to it. In fact, you probably do more work in the cockpit with the hand that's NOT on the stick, so having the left hand on the stick is actually probably a better idea.
