Aviation Photo #1837817 Boeing 747-438 - Qantas

At first I thought Qantas is a bit late today but later on I realized that this Jumbo just marked the beginning of a "diversion day". In the end we had a bunch of unscheduled long-haul flights mostly bound for Heathrow and Schiphol (EY, QR, 2x SQ, MH, WY, MU, 2x SV, GF, PK, QF) and even one day later most of them still were parked at remote!

Nice photo Thomas. Does anyone here know why only the outboard slats are extended while the inboard and mid-wing ones are not in this picture?

In response to question, the inner and mid L/E slats retract upon thrust-reverser activation to prevent foreign object damage (FOD)

This is the best shot of a QF aircraft in action that I have ever seen. Great capture. Could be an advertisement for them!

I agree with the New Zealand comment. Except Qantas is now BFFs with the airbus a380, advertisements of Qantas are usually always the a380, and the 747s are being sent to my home in the United States graveyard for airplanes unfortunately.
