On 14Feb1992, I did a 0.6 hour 'Flight' in the Qantas B747-438 Simulator Representing VH-OJA, at Qantas Jet Base Mascot, Sydney YSSY. The sortie involved realistic Circuits at Kai Tak, Hong Kong (HKG / VHHH). The last circuit simulated passing through a Downburst on final approach. A short corrective climb was followed by a steep nose down attitude, with a late flare which caused a heavy landing. A loud rumbling noise simulated flat main gear tyres during rollout! What a realistic ride! Also, multiple approaches were made to Kai Tak, without having to take time to do the full 'go around' circuit each time.
