View of the Flight Deck of QantasLink B717-2K9 VH-YQX Cn 55053, taken with flash at Canberra International Airport YSCB on 07Jan2020. The Boeing aircraft had operated a 1.5 hour flight as QF1551 from Brisbane YBBN to Canberra YSCB. The last 10 minutes of the flight were virtually IFR due to bushfire smoke. Special thanks to the Aircraft Captain for access to his Office at the end of this flight.

The whole flight was probably IFR, the last part of it being IMC, is what you meant :)

Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) is an 'aviation flight category' that describes weather conditions that require pilots to fly primarily by reference to instruments, and therefore under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), rather than by outside visual references under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) - I have heard light aircraft pilots refer to VFR as 'Ve Follow Roads'.
