Wow! Never before have I noticed that there was actually an example of this aircraft still in existence! I've seen a photo or two of this particular a/c in my Aircraft of the Aces: LaGG and Lavochkin Aces of World War II book back home. I like the impressive "Shark's Mouth" nose art. Unusual to some of us that the Russians would adorn some of their fighters w/ the nose art we see here. I can only wonder what it was like to see this during WWII out on the frontlines. The paintjob on it looks almost brand-new. But one question: why is the tail jacked up a little bit?
