She is flown by Russian Gromov Flight Research Institute`s senior test pilot, Kvochur, only 2 meters above ground,without extending landing gears! And notice that her refuelling probe is not retracted.Photo taken at oppisite side of the runway where my friend Xu Zheng took his shot.

I always knew that russian pilots have to save money, but reducing costs by demontating the gear is dangerous ;)

Whoa, sublime piloting skills in one of the world's most Beautiful & deadly fighter plane.

Personally, I think Israeli Air Force combat pilots are the Best in the world. Past results in air combat in the MidEast speaks for itself.

Breathtaking stunts....only russian pilots can do! they're crazy enough to fly this piece metal as low as 2 meters at the speed of 300 knots! the engine could have suct something and blows them apart! great skill though!......viva ala russia!

Super Photo, but the height is an illusion. The aircraft is much closer to the lense than the tarmac and thus higher than it appears, note the lack of shadow which would be more obvious on a sunny day. Forget the height issue this is a great photo for so many other reasons.

It's perfect photo. Photographer's position and lens (he used long telephoto) give sense of very low level flight. When you look at picture more carefully, you will see plane was not over the runway, it's over the grass and much closer to the camera than you think. It makes illusion on height perceive. So reality was, plane is not lover than 50 feet from the ground. It's only photographic illusion. For last word, very nice picture, but not low as you think.

If you watch this marvellous shot even more carfully, you will find the aircraft's shadow on the runway! Just the way it can be seen on Mr. Xu Zheng's shot, giving evidence for a height of less than two meters above the concrete! There is absolutely no reason for downgrading neither the photographer's nor the pilot's skills!

Flying NOE should be piece of cake for these guys. Gives a new perspective to what the Bird is capable of in the right/deft hands. This one will definitley be Pugachev's best at marketing the Sukhoi. American SOP rarely allows such 'liberties', though a F-111 did take a Mig to the Ground in OGS'91.

Great shot of Anatoly in action. btw, the fuel probe is extended because that switches the flight control law from "load factor demand law" to "delta altitude command law" which is very useful for in-flight refuelling to precisely maintain altitude, well, and for low passes as well :)
