Looks like some kind of "Star Trek" adversary. (I'd appreciate any opinions as to the function of the faceted hemisphere forward of the gear well.)

Lookng at western maritime patrol aircraft, it has the same sort of hemisphere, and i think it is a look-down radar...and as one of the roles of the Tu-95 is maritime patrol, it could well be a look down radar

The faceted hemisphere is a radar warning antenna. Detects incoming radar signals.
