The Federal National Guard Troops Service of the Russian Federation (FSVNG RF), also known as the "Russian Guards", is an internal security corps organized along military lines of the Russian Federation. The new federal executive body was established in April 2016 by a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin to secure borders, take charge of gun control, combat terrorism, organized crime, protect public order and guard important state facilities.
