Very basic panel with only a GPS hinting at the current era. Note the industrial sized throttle levers, and cracks in both windows. Well, its unpressurised, so even at 16500 feet what do cracks matter?

Having spent over 2,000 hrs in the front
office of a C-46, it was nice to see a birds eye view once again after 37 years!
My only comment is that there are no prop
controls on the left side of the quadrant,
Ours had hydraulic prop controls so my best
guess is that this bird has the old curtiss
electric props.

I flew the C-46 in Japan-Korea from 1953-1955 and instructed USAF Reserve Troop Carrier [Tactical Airlift] from 1957-1958 in this airplane. It was my first love, despite being such a difficult plane to land in significant cross-winds.

I mean, you are able to see very detail of the instrument panel and an astonishing view over the imposing Andes mountains isn`t satisfying enough!
