Apparently this was the first ever 777 for Singapore Airlines, delivered in May 1997 as 9V-SQA. Understandable but still a shame to see it like this. I'm a fan of the triple and it hurts a little to confront the truth, that it (I mean especially the -200ER) is no longer state of the art.

Sad indeed. I'm wondering why the entire cockpit-section has been cut out like that. I often see that on semi-modern aircraft being parted out. For spare parts, or is to be used as training / simulator or similar?

You know you're getting old when you see an A/C that just yesterday it seems was going to be the new big Boeing that would be replacing the DC-10s and now is meeting the axe.
