The upper deck of the A380, clearly not quite ready for usage yet! A few seats here or there, but mainly ballast tanks to give weight to the aircraft. Amazing plane [Nikon D70]

Note the bottle in the right-bottom corner. It is used to precisely distribute water ballast to the tanks ;-)

Good perspective view of the upper level. Once you realize it's the UPPER level, it makes you wonder just how big the lower level will be.

Looking at the photo, it is taken (obviously) looking back, on the upper deck, approximately half way down the A380. The feeling of space on the upper deck is impressive and being 6'3" myself the headroom looks similar to that of a 747. However, difficult to imagine how this could accommodate a 2-4-2 seating scenario and it would be interesting to see a similar photo of the downstairs "cattle class" floor with a 3-4-3 seating configuration, please see www.airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=29 for my reference. p.s. Great Shot!

This photo gave me a great feel for the dimensions of the airbus a380, including not only width of aircraft, but some length indication also - it was exactly what I was looking for to give me a feel for the general size and interior 'look' for this new aircraft family

There are, I think, just four of these A380 aircraft currently being test flown, and for many retirees from the Aircraft industry, it is both fascinating and informative to be able to view these remarkable interior and exterior photos.

I've never seen the inside of an airliner unfinished, thanks for the shot. Also, very interesting the use of ballast tanks to represent peoples weight. But I wonder what is used inside. I would think a liquid would cause a sloshing effect during changes of direction. I'm really looking forward to seeing this aircraft in person.

What's impressive is the idea of such a photo, imparting the vastness of the coach, without relying on frills to impress the viewer.
