Great picture but I'm curious as to why they didn't fly them elsewhere, if they had the time to bag the landing gear and engines than wouldn't they of had time to fuel them up a little and fly them to somewhere safe?

Can this plane move on this conditions if necessary ? what ever it's a great shot !!

What an unusual picture! Are those brown dirt/drip marks from the exit doors something temporary since it's been sitting for a while, or does the airplane need a new paint job?

This is a great shot. BUT, please understand that this bird has been decommissioned and not in service. That is why its in DMK and not BKK (where all TG ops are at).

I say..."Jack her up and mount her on a set of EDO floats". That way they can simply fly her outta there!

Yes, this plane could be moved, the aircraft is not the issue. The danger in moving it is pulling it off the cement or having a section shifted from the water. She will be able to return to flight after the lower gear is inspected for corrosion, thoroughly cleaned, greased and possibly new brake assemblies. A good bath would help, too.

To our friend in Thailand commenting on 20 Nov; Decommissioned and Airworthy are two seperate issues. If THAI isn't going to use the plane any more, it can still be sold and flown by another...
