I'd say it was near zero F with all the de-icing fluid on the ramp. Another reason could have been that this was a "green engine" run-up.

A normal wintertime start up of a TriStar. Pilots would usually make an announcement so that passengers would not be alarmed.

TriStars were notorious for their nose up attitude in cruise. You can see this in the exhaust smudge from the lower galley vent (below the “World”).
