Leaping back into the air, this 99 Sqn C-17 climbs out of Cosford's sub-4000ft runway having become the largest aircraft to have ever landed there a couple of hours earlier. The aircraft delivered MH-53M 68-8284 to the RAF Museum collection.

Wet runway, clear sky, what a moment with the sun and the shade. Very well done!

The low-angle light makes this a very dramatic shot and give it lots of depth. The swirls of moisture virtually make the air which is holding up the plane, visible. Very successful shot!
