Amazing Shot! It's obvious, this plane is taking off, fighter planes wouldnt land with afterburners on, would they? Great Shot buddy!!

To answer your question visitor from India. This is more then likely a takeoff. Fighters would never land with full afterburner because afterburner can only be applied at full throttle there-for this is either a takeoff or aborted landing.

Are you guys just ignorant? It's a takeoff! The comment blatantly says so. It's part of the Jaguar's display routine - yes, it CAN do this!

Hehe, it kinda looks like a chicken trying to jump into the air. an amazing plane, and a powerfull shot.

Its actually a completely normal Jag display take off - just viewed on Waddingtons up and down sloping runway - the plane is probably already 5 feet high in reality, you can see the gear has already started to cycle closed - its just that the runway has dropped away and it looks like its still on the deck, but thats just a more local horizon!

Somebody tell the pilot that they payed for the whole a/c os he can feel free to use all of the landing gear.

The sight of the afterburners is one of the greatest images in aviation, and two on a beauty like Jaguar is amazing.

The runway has dropped off and its just a good photo,right place right time,its in reheat so its going up not coming down,what I find odd is the saint on the tail,when i was with 16 sqn the saints,they had buccaneers,then went onto tornados,never had jags,very strange.

For all those who don't know much about the Jag and 16 Sqn.
!6 Sqn was the OCU at RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland The pictured aircraft was painted in an all black colour scheme for the display season. It was flown by Andy Cubin, one of the OCU instructors. Yes it's taking off as it's in reheat and the display routine started with a sharp left or right turn at minimum height.
