The Purple Heart recipient. On 1st June 1972 she took a mortar round through No. 3 engine while parked at Kontum Air Base. A team changed the engine, but pilots then had to take off with only three engines working, under heavy mortar attack which punctured the wings, damaging the other engines. She could only climb to 1000ft then made an emergency landing at Plieku Air Base, where mechanics determined she needed two new wings and four new engines.
