Bill - Nice camera angle. Re the ram air turbine: I don't think the engines lost power unless an A319 can glide for 20 mins which is how long we circled. Most amazing was the landing was softer than a bunch of cross-wind landings of late. Also it was the quietest emegency landing I ever recall (also the only one so far). No scraping noise, only a minimum of sparks from the right engine shroud. - Bill (passenger)

Looks like the right gear door sequencing failed causing the right gear to get locked on the door

On the Airbus the RAT pressurizes one of the hydraulic systmes. Since they were having landing gear (hydraulic) problems, I'd bet the emergency checklist included manually deploying the RAT.

RAT is out, because that is part of the procedure...

The wind generator assumes to think of difficult piloting at landing.

Why the emergency Wind turbine is deployed ?
