Speed bird 018 for SIN has successfully been disconnected from the Qantas pushback tug, has all four engines running and is now calling for taxi clearance. Note the leading edge flaps/slats, which are still in the zero position, have a flat surface that is in contour to the flat underside of the wing. When deployed you will notice that the flap/slat panels are actually a variable-camber panel, which is an ingenious development by Boeing on the B747.
