Departing 25R. When I took this shot back in February of 2003, there was no way that I could of predicted our next meeting. But sadly it turned out to be not more than 5 months later at Mojave boneyard in the California desert. It's always sad to see someone go to the old folks home, knowing that they probably will never make it out of there, except in a scrap bin.

And now we know that this plane actually did make it out of the Mojave desert: it was revived for Surinam Airways and flew for another five years on the PBM-AMS route. Now in 2011 it's back in the desert, at Marana this time...
