The CFM56 Series engines #1 and #2 on the NASA The Genesis and Rapid Intensification Processes (GRIP) experiment aircraft. She is being readied for a flight into the eye of Hurricane Earl which is currently churning in the Atlantic Ocean and heading towards landfall somewhere along the east coast of the US. You can notice some of the instrument probes for atmospheric sampling in the windows of the aircraft.
