Interesting situation. This was SW flight 8500, so I knew something was up. Then it rotated almost immediately, so I figured it had only a few folks on board. Then, I found out its destination: Indianapolis. We all know Southwest doesn't fly direct to Indy from Love Field. So it probably was a mechanical ferry. Note Southwest's headquarters in the background.

The plane is so cool

Greet pic. Southwest also used the flight number 8500 on the ferry flight to Boston Logan on Aug 15th 2009 to be the first ever Southwest aircraft to land at Logan. It was for the start of service out of Boston the next day.
