A large group of US Marines airplanes made an official visit to the Dominican Republic, 1940. Aerodromo Miraflores was the biggest airfield in the country by that year, it did not have asphalt, all was grass with litter hangars and litter a terminal.

Very nostalgic scene - pre-war (very early ww2) u.s. markings with bipalanes in the background! - when was the last time a mechanic dressed in a suit serviced an airplane (man standing in front of airplane) - very relaxed in the warm sunshine - looks like a good duty station - where do i sign up?
