Rockets out of the grass runway with some nice and vivid contrast of the blue sky and green Kuju Mountains in the background - that is what this photogenic airfield is all about. Finally I had an opportunity to take photos of this 1995 Discus-b after over 10 years since I got to know it is based here. Also it was great to meet and chat with some future pilot of this beautiful sailplane. [Nikon D500, Nikkor 24-120mm F4]

Looking immaculate having undergone a back to bare metal paint strip and full re-spray by HPB Aviation at Luton earlier in the year. This was a re-application of the same distinctive colour scheme which was first applied to XX105 thirteen years earlier at Hurn while being prepared for the Royal Aircraft Establishment (for use as a flying laboratory). This One-Eleven made its last flight in 2003 after thirty years of research flying, reported to have been scrapped at Boscombe Down on 17th December 2011.

The Good-Bye Huey...a legend will soon be retired in Germany. During scheduled maintenance at RUAG Oberpfaffenhofen this special livery was applied, painting by Walter Maurer. The design was created by an active pilot of Transporthubschrauberregiment 30 at Niederstetten. The Huey was officially presented on March 5th, 2020 and the Huey will do a Good-Bye Tour in Germany in 2020, visiting many airshows and events.
